Rotary Controls

Postby pooh_bear on Thu Aug 05, 2021 10:59 am

Hi All

In the process of planning the installation of a M600. A few questions regarding rotary switches if i may.

I intend on using two switches. One to allow two maps, The other to adjust slip for the TC.

As i understand it:

1) DSM-4 outputs a logic state. DST-4 outputs a voltage based on the value of the resistor selected.

2) DSM-4 is required for switchable maps.

3) It must be wired to AT5 or AT6.

4) Is DST-4 suitable for slip? i.e. enough positions?

5) Slip switch uses an AV or an AT input?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

A DSM-4 is suitable, provided you are using V3.3 firmware (or newer) for the multi config system to operate.

4 positions can be enough once the traction system is calibrated. Most people that use a 9 position switch in my experience don't use all of the available positions.

For the DST-4 you will use an AV input, as you will be using your dig inputs for speed measurement, and you don't require the 5V pullup of the AT input.
