M84- 4 CYLINDER, 4-STROKE, SETUP SEMI SEQUENTIAL

Postby dr350 on Tue Jun 29, 2021 1:17 am

Hi

I use M84 on a 4-cyl 4-stroke engine, which has no camshaft signal.

SETUP:
Number of Cylinder: 24
crankshaft signal: 60-2
REF / SYNC Mode: 8 (2 Missing teeth once per cycle)
Firing order: 1-3-4-2
Number of coil: 2

Wiring Ignition:

IGNITION 1: (CYL: 1 AND 4)
IGNITION 2: (CYL: 2 AND 3)

WIRING FUEL INJECTOR:
INJECTOR 1: CYL 1
INJECTOR 2: CYL 3
INJECTOR 3: CYL 4
INJECTOR 4: CYL:2

I was reading in this post: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=2689

I understand that in this mode (8) works in group fire (SEMI-SEQUENTIAL)

The injectors fire 2 times every 360º.

Question:

In what order do the injectors fire: Group 1: CYLINDER 1 and 4 or 1 and 3?
Group 2: CYLINDER 2 and 3 or 2 and 4

The injector duty cycle correspond every 180º?

Thanks, regards!

Hi,

Excuse me for inciting, surely it is a very basic question, but I wanted to evacuate this doubt.

Thanks, Regards!

Hi,

In this mode it will fire the uneven Injector outputs in the first batch, and then the even injector outputs in the second batch 360 degrees later. This means that the injectors have to be wired in the correct firing order to the ECU so that the injectors are fired at their correct timings.

Hi,

Thanks for Your reply.

Is mode 8 correct / optimal for a 4 cyl, 4 stroke engine without a sync sensor on the camshaft?

The injector duty cycle, how many degrees is it?

Thanks, Regards!
