Wiring lambda sensors to Dual NTK Lambda to CAN

Postby NLSX454 on Mon May 10, 2021 5:12 am

Hi all,

I am wondering if a longer lambda sensor loom extension can be used than what is currently available? I believe the longest off-the-shelf loom extender is 0.55m (1.8 feet). FYI, the NTK lambda sensors I am using are part #57007.

Would it be an issue to add another 1 foot of wire length in a custom loom and also incorporate a bulkhead connector to then connect both lambda sensors to the LTCD-Dual NTK (#61305) which will be inside the vehicle for connection to my CAN Bus?

Thanks,
Neil

I have used extension harnesses for LSU 4.9 from Ballenger Motorsports without issues, This link is to their NTK extensions that may work for you:

Thank you for the link David.

I was also thinking of getting the NTK lambda connector plug kits and wiring up my own extensions, with the addition of a bulkhead connector. Has anyone gone this route?

Unlike the Bosch LSU 4.9 sensors, the NTK sensor do not have a calibration resistor in the connector, this allows for a lot more flexibility in mounting and wiring the units. A number of teams do not use the standard connectors for these sensors, instead replacing them with AS type connectors, either as bulkhead connector or an inline connector.

Just make a male-female extension for whatever sensor you're actually using.

That way there's no messing about changing plugs or buying different sensors.
