DBW M130 Pedal position sensor

Postby Aquila on Tue Apr 27, 2021 7:28 pm

HI,I understand its not ideal but are there any down falls, concerns of using a Motec 3 wire Contactless rotary position sensor as a pedal position senor in a DBW set up any safety issues to worry about.
Thanks newbie

Yeah -- it's not safe!

If the sensor were to fail, and indicate 50 - 100% throttle there would be no way of knowing without a tracking sensor.

So either use two sensors, or just use a dual-output sensor designed for DBW applications.

Thanks for replying so quickly David
I have arranged to get it removed and get it done correctly.
Thank you.
