Calibration - Bosch PSS-140 for C125

Hi All,

Apologies if this has already been asked, I am considering using a Bosch PSS-140 pressure sensor for brake pressure logging (Part - 0 261 545 053)

Is this a supported sensor, or do I just create a manual calibration to suit?

I do not have a calibration for these sensors (at least according to the supplied Part Numbers) but typically the Bosch sensors are 0.5V = 0 and 4.5V = Specified Pressure.

What are you using the sensor for?

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the quick response, I wanted to use them for logging brake pressures - the 140 (Bar) = about 2000psi so I thought it be ok for the job.

Just to clarify, if I want it to read PSI and not bar - just make the max value 2030.53 rather than 140?

Hi Sam,

There is two ways that this can be done, the first is to create the calibration using the base units supplied for the sensor, and then when you display the channel on the Dash, select the appropriate units that you want to use and have the dash do the conversion, or to make the conversion in the calibration and then display it using those.

If you look at most of the pressure calibrations in the Dash and ECU, they are done as Pa values as this is how the CAN messaging is configured which means that the CAN system can just transmit the base units and then allow for the receiving device to make the conversion.
