m84 not connecting to ecu

just installed a m84 and trying to get it to connect to ecu manager. Can bus has resistors installed with a 50 reading. high and low has correct voltage reading, has the 2. 28 firmware. when i plug the usb into the laptop the resistance drops to zero. and ecu not connected message stays on the manager. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Is the laptop running on batteries? Is the car on a charger? You can have grounding problems in that scenario. Try running the laptop on battery power.

Also, make sure you are using M84 ECU Manager, not ECU Manager which works with M400/M600/M800 ECUs.

it is on a motorcycle, laptop is on battery, and the ecu is grounded to the battery

what else can i try i've checked voltage on the can hi and low side checked resistance, have the latest utc 2.28 firmware , still cant get the ecu to connect any advice is welcomed

Have you tried setting ECU manager to use secondary CAN address?
