Rotary Switch

Postby rayhall on Wed Aug 19, 2020 11:53 am

Hello,
Is there information on making a six position rotary switch. Looking for recommendation of resistors values to use.

If you used seven 1k (anything between 500 ohms and 2k would probably work OK) resistors. Use one between 5V and the first terminal, one between each switched terminals, and one between the last terminal and 0V. The output signal would measure in equal voltage steps, and allow detection of a broken wire with either a high or low voltage (depending upon which wire failed).
