M1 DBW throttle issue

Postby SteveC on Sat Aug 01, 2020 1:52 pm

Hey guys

Does anyone know what this error is, i have a second hand throttle body and wondering if its faulty.

using the correct calibration it seems iratic

Sometimes the pedal is pressed and the body does nothing at all

Says single sensor - not sure what that means

It's not moving, because it's already encountered a "tracking fault" as indicated by Throttle Servo Bank 1 Diagnostic.

The fault remains until the servo becomes inactive (ie, Throttle Pedal is zero for "Throttle Servo Power Save Delay").

Hope that helps. I suggest reading the help in M1 Tune for channels like Throttle Servo Bank 1 Diagnostic.

What channel is reporting "single sensor"? both the Throttle Pedal and the Throttle Postion (on the DBW throttle body or linkage) need to have dual sensors for safety (main & tracking need to agree, or else the ECU doesn't know which to believe and needs to stop activating the throttle.)

Throttle sensor is a new KA motorsport duel TPS on a tilton box - working perfect.

The body is an audi/vw one which at the time was the only one i could find bolt on and was 2nd hand.

Its the tracking sweep of the tps so just trying to understand if its faulty as its being odd before i buy a new body which is now available here in oz if its the same pcd.

The Audi Part is 0 280 750 009

The new part is this
https://www.bosch-motorsport-shop.com.a ... -60mm-bore

0 280 750 151

I used the settings as the matched body in the M1 software for 0 280 750 487 is the same settings

P -160
I - 120
D - 200
Period 1
Dead Band 0.2
Feedforward was 0-1 and 100-5

If i increased the P to 165, 170 and 175 it did actually act better but still had a sensor fault and just stopped working randomly

So i am not sure if the setting are correct really or if the body i have is broken - i am thinking its faulty

So the KA motorsport sensor is the Throttle Pedal Sensor on the Tilton pedal assembly.

Since you don't mention it -- have you setup both the Main and Tracking Resource for Throttle Servo Bank 1 Position Sensor?
After selecting the Bosch 0 280 750 487 Throttle Servo Calibration, you may need to switch it to manual (it will keep all the settings) so you can set the Throttle Servo Bank 1 Position Sensor Main Offset and Scale. Or at least verify they are correct.

Both voltages have been set (closed, then Q and Open then Q)

I did just that changed back to manual and left it at that - all the settings were the same.

The more i look at this the more i think the Feed Forward table isnt correct but before i go down that path i am not sure if its settings or body fault.

Hi,

I have attached the correct calibration for that model of DBW, you will need to migrate the settings out of the attached Package into yours.

That is the calibration for the 151 DBW.

That you have a regular pulse opening the servo that isn't commanded by the pedal looks to either be a setting issue or a faulty servo. Can you reset the DBW setting back to what is listed above and then do some more captures showing the P,I and D channels, as well as the Feed Forward and Control channels.

If you could post your Package that would assist as well.
