Batt- Connection

Postby RR213 on Mon Jul 27, 2020 1:15 pm

When wiring a PDM can the Battery Negative pins (A_26 and B_18) be connected to a chassis ground close to the PDM or must they be directly connected to the battery negative post?

I'm asking since the battery is located around 3m from the PDM.

In our application that's what we have and it works fine. We have machined m6 steel inserts welded in to the structure in various places for grounding. The official MoTeC answer may vary

As long as the connection points to the chassis are good - clean metal, no rust or paint, then there is no issue wiring it to the chassis.
