CDL3 and M84

Postby mathews on Wed Feb 12, 2020 2:27 am

I have a CDL3 and an M84 installed on a 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa.Everything was working fine until I had a local shop remount my dash. When doing so They had to lengthen some wires to the RS232 plug for the CDL3. The problem now is the dash will only display sensor values whenever the UTC to CAN converter is plugged into the M84. Whenever the converter is unplugged the only value present on my CDL3 is battery voltage.

Probably a missing can bus termination resistor. UTC has one built-in so that's why bus works with it.

So,basically I need to add a 120 ohm resistor?

Correct.

There is a terminating resistor in the Race Loom that we sell for the CDL3, it sounds like when the wires where extended that this was removed hence it not working unless the UTC is in place to terminate the Bus.
