M84 RX7 CRIP timing

Postby Rickybobby on Mon Jan 13, 2020 4:06 am

Hello hoping anyone can help

I purchased a RX7 FD with 13B REW single turbo engine
The car never run well on the Megasquirt MS3X ECU so decided to go for a Motec M84
I have got the car running by trying to adjust the settings to make a base map before it goes for its tune
The problem is that is still runs very badly
Today I set the CRIP with a timing light at 0 degrees and cranking the engine over and adjusting the CRIP to 63 degrees and test advance @ 0degrees) before the TDC on pulley lined up with the TDC Pointer (I have checked the tdc is correct on rotor 1)
the timing was on leading plug rotor 1
Does this all sound correct
at the moment I have a Error (in red)
SyncErr Error
I believe it should say
SyncErr OK
but I could be wrong as its a rotary engine with no camshaft to sync
Could this be one or the issue its not running correctly ?
what should the Test advance be set to ?
Does anyone have a M84 base map for 13 B REW so I can check settings

Many thanks for your help
