EVO 8 GR.A Lamdba problem

Hello all,

I bought hillclimb EVO 8 with motec m800 ecu.
One the first race we figured out that the lambda is not working.
I bought new Bosch LSU4.2 and replace it and try to do the air calibrate and it again showd it was faulty (i think error c5 in diag.) and was unable to do the calibration. It also remain cold (i think it should heat itself)

Then i do some measurements and i figured out that on pin where should +12v be, there is voltage from around 6-8v.
I measured also resistance of wires and everything was ok from ecu to lambda connector.

Next thing i've done i stripped a bit of insulation on +12v wire and connect it directly to + on battery to test what happens and lambda started to work. No more error and also calibration was done perfectly.

What would be the reason for this.
Maybe connection of lambda wires on ECU board is bad?
Maybe some of the wires are switched, as shop who was building the car said that they soldered wires directly on pins below connector on ecu board?

Hi,

The first thing is, does it have the Lambda enable? If the Lambda function is not enabled, then you will get C-5 errors.

Second, you mention that wires have been soldered onto the board, I would be very concerned about this being done, as it is possible to damage the underlying layers of the board.

Yes lambda funciion is enabled.

As i said when 12v from batery was aplied directly to the wire,everything worked perfectly(air calib., no eroor).

Yes, i agree that direct soldering on botom off the connector is not the best way, but everything look clean and its beautifully soldered, is it posible some wires were switched while soldering?
Is there some of the pins with 6-8v?

Because there is 1 enpty pin which could be 12v which i am missing.
