i2 Standard Math Function Help

Postby 01-0041 on Wed Jun 05, 2019 1:56 am

To all,

I am trying to generate a channel in i2 Standard that will correct my steering angle. I have had some help from Adrian, but thought I would throw this out to an even larger pool.

I am using a SAS from a BMW E46 with a CAN ID of 0x1F5

The channels I am working with are:

Steering_Angle_Sensor - Always a positive value
Steering_Angle_Sign_Bit - Either a 1 or a 0 depending on direction of wheel

The sensor outputs a positive number regardless of steering angle and uses a sign (1 or a 0) to correct the channel in the OEM software.

I have read all of the CAN data, but have not found a corrected channel.

Is it possible to do this in i2 Standard or do I need to move up to i2 Pro?

If someone knows how to create a channel within a CAN template that would be preferred!

Thank you for your time and help!!

We may be able to correct this in your dash. You could use a table to feed the sign and position values and produce an signed output value.

I would be willing to take a look if you sent me your dash configuration that receives the channels.
