Questions about SYNC errors

Postby acca on Thu May 16, 2019 6:21 pm

Hello
I use a Motec M84 for a monocylinder Shell eco marathon engine (25cc)
It's equiped with an inductive sensor for REF (flywhell 24-2 tooth) and the same for SYNC (placed over admission rocker)
I have two questions about this configuration.
Is the SYNC signal only used on engine start ?
Why do i have a SYNC error when stopping the engine ? I stop it by triggering a DUAL RPM limit.
Thanks

Hello,
The sync sensor is used to start the engine and the ECU will use it if it is there whilst the engine is running. What exact error do you have when the engine is stopping and to be very specific do you get it as it is stopping or when it has come to a stop?

There is 0,5 mm gap
The sensor is given for 1mm distance (https://fr.farnell.com/schneider-electr ... dp/2455538)
