Crashes on export

Postby aNinjaneer on Wed Aug 08, 2018 2:26 pm

Every time I try to export one of my packages, M1 Build becomes unresponsive (Not Responding). Is there another way to export my files manually so that I can backup my firmware. I almost lost it already one time. I tried simply saving the file directory structure, but when putting it back that way, it tries to "recover' the firmware, and it doesn't do a very good job of it, as nothing was right.

Hi,

What size is the Project? I have a Project that is around 30MB in size that when I export it makes Build freeze for around 90 seconds, and then it recovers.

Have you tried making a new Project based on the Project that you are having issues with?

I'm not sure what all files get included in the export. The total project directory structure is over 1GB, but the latest build package directory is only around 6MB. I haven't tried that yet, but I did notice that if you let it hang for a few minutes, it comes back with the prompt to give it a name, but when I do, M1 Build completely crashes and exits.

Hi,

What version of M1 Build are you using?

Are you getting a crash dump formed after this occurs?

The export includes all old versions so if your project folder is 1gb, this is certainly your issue. Build has not crashed, but with no progress bar or cancel button it appears that is has.

I suggest saving a copy of the entire project folder (for your archive), then cleaning out all unnecessary old versions of the project, either by deleting the version folders or in the M1 Build Open project dialogue, you can delete old version here also.

The project export should then work fine, but a large project might still take a few seconds to export.
