Hi,

Is the M84 wired to the engine? If so, please do a Ref Sync Capture and attach it to your reply. This will assist in determining the Ref Sync mode needed.

For the sensors, typically a Hall effect sensor will have three wires, and a Magnetic sensor will have two. This can only be determined by either looking at the sensors, or from the wiring diagram. The attached image has a signal shape that looks like a Hall effect sensor, but I would not trust this.

CRT will be 60.

Crip will need to be determined on the engine.

Hi. Thank you for your time. I have got the car to start briefly but will not continue to run around the

sync mode 7
ref teeth 60
tooth ratio 58
ref sensor type 1.
ref edge pol 0
ref trig volt 0
sync sensor type 1
sync edge pol 0
tync trig volt 0

I have since found there are four cut outs in the sync sensor (distributor).
I am thinking I am way out with my crip as I cant get the engine to run for more than 5-6 seconds.

Not enough sleep....

Thank you again for your advice.

There is only one tooth showing in the Ref Sync Capture, and it is not moving around, so it is a stable sync.

It sounds like your CRiP is out, but may not be by much. Use a timing light to get the requested ignition timing to line up with the actual timing.

If the timing is correct and there are no errors coming up, the next area that I would look at is fuelling. Try adding a 50% trim into the fuelling and see if the engine behaves better doing this.

What may be happening is that the cranking compensations are adding enough fuel to get the engine started, but when they run out, and the fuel film that had formed is used up, then the main fuel map may not be delivering enough fuel to maintain engine operation.
