Hi

I wanted to do the same with a Renault Clio, M600, SDL and 2 x PDM's 15's
doing similiar things, lights etc
according to an email from Aus some months ago it WILL be possible,
although lately this seems to have changed to it WILL be possible at some stage!
Possible way would be using ADL2 or ACL and transmit can info into each PDM but
complicated just for CAN bus setup

Regards

Steve

hi
any news if this is possible yet, if not what is the best way to do it so 1 switch can turn on items on both pdm modules

48 channels?

Wow, complicate things alot! :)

the status channels is what you will want to send via CANBus and then use conditional statements based on the status channels IE

PDM#1 (Input Base Address 0118H, Output = 500H)Status 1 = TRUE => CANBus => PDM#2 (Input = 0119, Output 501) Input, Conditional statement = PDM#1 Status 1 = TRUE then flash Turn signal...

this is an example.

At this stage there is no direct PDM to PDM communications. It is in the list of new features to go in the PDM but not sure when this will happen.

Currently this can be done via an ADL2, ADL3 or ACL (SDL can but short of resources), where the channels are received from all PDMs and what is required can be transmitted back to any or all PDMs. This can get complicated fairly quickly as there are so many channels.

Also currently we support the connection of two PDM's to a dash, but not three. The third PDM can still be connected no problem, just the receive templates don't exist, nor do the channel names.

It's all possible, in a fashion!

right say i want to run the light off the pdm modules the front pdm for front lamps and the rear pdm rear lights if both the control wires from the pdm modules are joined at the switch and the switch then grounds them would this work.

Hi Steve,
Sorry for the delay in reply.

Yes inputs can be wired together with no problems and this would be the best way. You could connect an output of one PDM to an input of another, but this can cause problems depending on what else is connected to the output.

i ahve to question the need for such a configuration though.

Reason why, I am running a SINGLE PDM32 and it is powering the following (described PER output used)

low Head lights
High head lights
Stop lights
fog lights
Right Turn indicator
Left turn indicator (using an input can turn this and the right turn indicator on at the same time)
Right Power Window
Left Power Window
Windshield wipers
Windhsield wiper washer
A/C
A/C blower
A/C clutch
Defrost
Power Seat
left heated seats
Right heated seats
Fuel Pump
EFI (power the MoTeC M800 and SDL)
Ign (power the CDI-8)
Radio
Interior lights (one output for all)

and I still have outputs for other goodies like an ACL, Telemetry equipment, CarPC.

Why did you complicate things so much?

i agree i have probably made it to complicated i would have needed 2 pdm due to the amount of stuff on the car, the cost beetween 1 pdm 32 and pdm 16 and 3 pdm 16 is minimal so went with idea of havin a pdm under bonnet area one behind dash and one at the rear this way output wire length is kept to a minimal and i can have 3 indepedant loom that can be removed easier

how did you do the electric windows cant get my head round them
