GPR M150 CAN Bus Settings for Dash Communications

Postby rayhall on Fri Jun 30, 2017 9:28 am

Hello,

Where in the M1 Tune software do I select CAN communication with a dash. I can find CAN settings for other devices, but not for a dash.

I want to select the CAN Bus number and the rate.

The two channels you are after are "ECU Transmit CAN Bus" to set which CAN bus you want the messages sent on and "CAN Bus 1/2/3 Mode" to set the bus speed.

Hello Adrian,

Thanks for that. Now another question. When selected the help states...

Defines which CAN Bus is used to transmit M1 General CAN messages.

My question is, where do I find a list of the data items transmited.

Hi Ray,

Attached is a dbc file you can download or if you have a Colour Dash Manager installed you can go File>New>M1 then go to the communications setup and there will be three templates with all of the CAN messages.

That was the information I was after. Thank you.

I have found everything I want except for the Brake and Clutch switch states. The closest I can find is...

0x64E 26th bit = Launch Switch
0x64E 28th bit = Brake State

Are these the clutch and brake switch states ?

Hi Ray,

Brake State is correct, but clutch switch is sent as part of the PDM messaging. This is address 0x119 bit offset 36. The details of this messaging can be found in the help under "ECU Transmit".

Also note you will have to turn the PDM CAN messaging on if you haven't already (channel - PDM CAN BUS)

Adrain,

There seems to be a error with the information on the clutch switch. I find the clutch switch as 0x11A and the 14th bit.

What is correct ?

Hi Ray,

It depends on what version of GPR you have. You are correct if you are using a December 2014 version but from July 2015 onwards it moved to address 0x119 to allow for the PDM output resource messaging.

Adrian,

I only recently bought the GPR M150. So I take it that the firmware is much latter then 2014. The dbc file you attached has 0x11A as having the clutch switch. Is there one for the latter firmware version.

Hi Ray,

No I don't have an updated DBC file at the moment. It is on my list of things to do, I should have something I can send you next week.
