Please see below.

As the .cc8 templates aren't backwards compatible with the older versions of Dash Manager I typically build all of our templates as .cc7 first and then convert them to .cc8. If anyone ever needs .cc7 templates just let me know and I can send them through.

Hey guys having issues getting CDL3 to connect to a M130-E888-LTCD combination.

The three devices are quite happily talking amongst themselves,but nothing I have tried can get dash to connect.

Started with the original dash configuration as supplied OBD2

I’ve loaded both the latest communications templates M1 General 640 and 650 onto CAN0 CAN mode 1m rate.

GPS is on rs232RX Mode on CAN1 as per original config.

Is there an extra template required for the SLM-C?

M130 setup as CAN1,1Mbps,E888 Can ID base 0xF0,Ecu RX Can ID 0x640 sequential, ECU Tx Bus CAN1.

No diagnostic errors on CAN

Getting RS232 baud error on ECU which I cant seem to isolate,nothing connected to this on the Ecu.

Any ideas ? Missing something obvious no doubt.

Are you sure you configured the correct CANbus? The CDL3 does have two CAN busses.

You should absolutely confirm the pinout/wiring of your CDL3 harness matches your configuration.

The SLM-C is setup under Functions>Shift Light Module, you don't need to add a template manually for this it is done automatically in the background.

You have the ECU setup to receive it's own messages back, you should change the ECU Rx address to something else outside that range (for example 0x680 or 0x690 etc etc).

The M130 doesn't have a serial bus so don't worry about the RS232 Diagnostic.

Can you go to the communications setup in Dash Manager and edit the 0x640 template. In the top right corner click select to select a diagnostic channel. Ok all of the windows and send the configuration. Now monitor channels and let me know the value of the diagnostic channel.

Yep have double checked the CDL3 wiring and Termination resistance,
as it’s the supplied harness with the club kit.
The Ecu and Slm-c is on CAN0, pins 18-19, and GPS is on CAN1 pins 26-27 of the CDL loom.

The dash was originally putting the CAN in error until the comms speed was set to 1M, so I’m pretty confident it’s seeing the correct bus.

Ok the template already had the CAN diagnostics assigned so went into the channel monitor and found the CAN0 utilization at 37% with no tax/Rx errors,and most of the Ecu data showing on the other channels also.

So it’s a display configuration issue I’m chasing , for example TPS data is good in channel data but 0 in display..

As an aside should the shift light preview drive the device?

Ok so you are saying that in 'Monitor Channels' the Throttle Position channel is showing the correct value but on the actual display it is always 0?

If this is the case then you need to check that the correct channel is in the Display setup. You can send me your config if you like, either post it here or send it to support@motec.com.au

I made some headway on this over the weekend,
These seems to be 3 different channels for throttle position, I’m running cable throttle with tps so had to assign one of the others that had data.
Got all the basic channels to the dash like Map, engine coolant and oil temp etc, but the thermocouples and LTCD don’t seem to reflect the data shown on the Ecu. For example 8 TCs will read ambient 30deg steady on Ecu, dash will show wildly different readings.
Will take you up on the offer to review the configurations
