update
I have been on another project and am now back to my Hayabusa
I installed a " brocks" offset cam pin ( gen 1 and gen 2 busa s have different cam settings , the offset pin for the cam sensor counteracts the difference . the std pin is 5mm the new pin is 8.5 mm
So my thinking was this will " separate " the signals more allowing me to better use mode 5 !
no joy , no sync , I have very accurate crip !
what is clear is many people using this engine ( with after market ecu s ) have a similar problem
there is hall sensor replacement kits for the original magnet sensor , an early model gsxr ( 07) has a hall sensor that fits the Hayabusa
Ok , this is different , I reset the crip 360 deg less ( which means the cam pin is 180deg different ) and repositioned the plug leads ,
So no 1 and 4 cyclinders are on tdc , 1 is on comp ,the crip is set for 4 to be tdc com , so I switch plug leads and the same for 2 and 3 that really separates the ref / sync signals !
my explanation is a bit hard to do put into words
engine starts and has sync , with no errors after a short run time
I will take more captures and look @ the filtering etc
From all this I have decided i will fit an hall sensor to the cam , as others seem to do
and of course revert to the " right" crip etc
Hope some of this is useful to anyone using a gen1 hayabusa
now for sensor calibration , and some dyno time
cheers
