No EGT sensors available? Part No:#58053

Hi,

I just attempted to order an Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor R1000 - Part No:#58053 (http://www.motec.com.au/ac-sn-temperatu ... rature-eg/) through my local Motec dealer and was told that it's obsolete and not available from Motec.

The car is running an old M8 and ADL and has an old K-type thermocouple installed, but missing the 'TCA—Thermo Couple Amplifier - For use with K-type sensors'. I thought the #58053 was the updated option as doesn't requite the amp.

Anyone have additional info or alternatives?

We have been very happy using EGT sensors and amplifiers from Exhaust Gas Technologies.

Hi David,

Honeywell, the manufacturer of the R1000 EGT probes stopped making these sensors about a year ago, we have been trying to source replacements for them, but it is not as easy as it may seem. Most of the current non K-Type EGT sensors on the market only read to 900 degrees, and fail at temperatures higher than this.

We hope to have a replacement sensor for these soon, but no timelines can be given at this stage.

Thanks Stephen for confirming that these are no longer available. Are the K-type sensors and Amplifiers still available through Motec?
