Ref mode for Bosch system with twin crank sensor

Postby Promap on Tue Feb 21, 2017 6:46 pm

The project is to install M84 on a beautiful one BMW 635 GpA. I would like not to change the wiring loom and the sensors. But this engine has 2 sensors on the crankshaft. The one on the crown of starter with more than 100 teeth and the other one with only 1 tooth per crank rev. This system was used by Bosch in the 90s.
With the mode 2 and the number of cylinder 36, this 6 cylinders can works with a distributed ignition and a grouped injection? Val

Nobody equipped a BMW or Porsche with this trigger system? Or my question is not clear?

Bonjour Valerie,
You should be able to use Mode 2 (multi tooth) on this. Connect the sync to the sensor with a single tooth and set the number of cylinders to 36. I think there are 116 teeth on the flywheel but you will need to check.
