M130 trans brake aux revlimiter

Postby Girch on Fri Jan 06, 2017 8:17 pm

So I've managed to program the transbrake and bump switch, which works perfectly,
There is a driver switch activated engine speed limit available, however the bump switch can only be configured via a driver switch. I need the transbrake input to activate a revlimiter, how can this be done?

The features and methods available for control are determined by the device firmware.

What firmware package are you using in the M130?

I think with the GPA or GPR packages this would work:
If you also wire your transbrake output to one of the inputs you could configure that input as another driver switch, and use that driver switch to set the rev limit (Using Driver Engine Speed Limit Maximum Switch). The rev limit would be set in Engine Speed Limit Maximum, with the switch selecting the A or B value.

Thanks David.
I'm running the GPR package.
I was trying to avoid adding another pin input.
I'm sure there would be a way around it.
Hopefully Stephen dean chimes in...

Hi Grich,

I have had a quick look at this for you, and it looks like the only easy way to configure it is to loop the output back to another input. I will look into it a bit more.

Any update on this?
Really hoping I don't have to loop the aux wire, it would be really nice if the firmware was modified
To suit.

Hi Girch,

The Engine Speed Limit Maximum Switch and Transmission Brake Bump Switch can share the same Driver Switch, does this help?

Hi Stephen
I need the engine speed limit incorporated with the transbrake activation.

Hi Girch,

Do you want the Engine Speed Limiter to activate on the Transmission Brake Switch, or the Transmission Brake Bump Switch? You talk about both in your initial query.

If it is the TBS, then currently the only way to do so is by using the loop back option (unless there is a Dash or PDM in the vehicle that you can CAN messages back and forth) and two separate inputs, if it is the TBBS then you can use a single input as a Driver Switch and share them.
