two PDM's

I have a PDM30 in my car and was considering a second one linked to either the installed 15 button keypad and or a second smaller keypad, for windows and a few safety / security features.

Was wondering IF there is an ability to for the PDM's to be able to see each other on the BUS and perform logical or command functions as a result.

eg.. Stage 2 fan input on PDM1 triggers relay output on PDM2.

Hi Chris,

You can setup CAN messaging between the two PDM's that will allow for this sort of operation. You could also hardwire connections between the two devices if you would prefer.

If you want to provide some more detail as to the exact operation that you want, I can provide an example for you.

I'd prefer not to waste an input and output on each PDM to relay a status and the PDM30 has all outputs allocated.I would need to knock up a points list to confirm the specific functions.

The primary purpose is to take switch inputs or status conditions from the PDM30 and use them to trigger logically controlled outputs (I expect in some cases via functions) on the second PDM with further command input from keypad 1 or 2 on the same bus.

Are you able to provide further advice / link to reference material, on how the messaging function is set up and operates..?

Hi Chris,

I have added a couple of screenshots of how to transmit and receive channels from one PDM to another. You can have both Keypads being read by both the PDM's, but you can only use one to drive the status lights. I would recommend that, unless you have a lack of CAN Channels, you only use one PDM to control the Keypads, and then send the messages via CAN.

Once the messages have come across, you can then use them to control functions and outputs.

I take it all of the devices are connected in a daisy chain fashion on the one CAN bus..?
