They are digital inputs -- the DIG1 and DIG2 can be used, but with the standard harness these are used for your interface buttons.

Can you guys confirm that I do not need to push all the channels to the display creator file if I do not intend to view them on the dash. As long as they are in the loging dialog box they will be datalogged ?

Correct,

It is only the channels that you want to use in DC that need to be sent. The logging set is a different function.

That is a good write up that you put up there David.

From my own previous logger, which was more limited than my C127 will be (I did not have brake pressure logging or steering angle for starters and I plan to run both) it still helped both on the car development side and on the driver development. It showed us for one thing that we had an oil pressure problem under brakes into one corner that the old style gauges the car previously had were not fast enough reacting to display (And even with the old logger dash in the car it was happening somewhere your workload meant you were not looking at the dash) and potentially saved the engine.

On the driver side, there are two of us who drive the car and the logger highlighted driving style differences between us, each of us was faster than the other at different points of the track. Trawling the data resulted in both of us going faster.

wow and here I was thinking that OIL P wasn't very important.
This goes to show there is no such things as too much information collected.

I have to find a way to connect my dash to request CAN messaging and not ODB2...

I would ALWAYS log oil pressure. One of the few things (Like detonation) which can kill an engine in seconds.

This might help in getting hooked up to CAN, it is for a diesel but many of the messages are likely to carry over.

Here is sample boost controller - I am guessing that to find the frequency of my factory boost controller I will have to do some digging around but amusing I can find information similar to this: http://aemelectronics.com/files/instructions/30-2400%20Boost%20Control%20Solenoid%20Kit.pdf

What does the calibration table of the SPD sensor (based on frequency) needs to say?

0.00Hz = 10%
31.00Hz = 90%

These solenoids have two wires (pos and ground) should be tapping the positive wire and connecting that to the respective pin on the dash and disregards the ground wire? the dash (C125) is grounded to the battery just like every other part of the car.

I have blown up FOUR times due to momentary oil pressure loss (long story, eventually changed engine builder).

I ALWAYS check the oil pressure trace after every meeting and, ideally, after every session. This practise has saved me thousands and helped win several championships.

I will quite happily run without any gauges EXCEPT either oil pressure or at the very least oil pressure warning light. Oh, and maybe water or oil temperature on an unknown engine.

So yes, my very expensively earned advice would be log oil pressure as well.

In my case we were most likely getting away with it as the pressure loss was occurring under brakes with the engine unloaded, but it would not be doing anything good for wear and tear.
