help with connector on adl2 (porsche cup)

Postby pold9000 on Thu Jun 02, 2016 7:40 am

i want install brake pressure sensors to the adl2 - i have 3 connectors in the car from them two are for the pressure sensors and one for the steering angel sensor.

i have checked the two connectors where the signal arrives on the big connector of the dash (48 pins - see attached pic)?

you speak always from a 79pin connector but i have only the 48pin connector?

the signals from the two equal connectors go to pin 18 (yellow) and to pin 19 (yellow/blue) and one connector goes to pin 27 (orange/white) and to pin 26 (orange) - so it seems the pin 26 and 27 are the sensor signals and 18 and 19 are positive or negative.

i have enclosed a pic where the pins are described but can not see how this work with my pin 18, 19, 26 und 27.

can someone explain which pin i have to enter the values of the sensors?

bye

The 79pin connector is on the back of the dash, it should look like this:

The Motec pin numbers refer to this connector so you will have to trace your wires back to the main dash connector. The connector you have shown is from a 3rd party and not part of the standard Motec loom so I doubt anyone here will have a pinout for it.

On the ADL2 equipped 997 GT3 Cup cars that I have worked with, the brake pressure sensors are connected to AV 2 (front) and AV 3 (rear). The steering sensor is connected to AV 1.

thank you david,

i installed the sensors and the very important info from you that the av2 und av3 are connectet to the pre installed plugs helped me a lot.

is there a helpfull manuel how you can change the motec display?

i have tried with the dash software and i can ad the two brake pressure values (1x in the practice mode and the 2nd time in the warm up) - but this would be very easier with a manuel (not the help file) or a tutorial.

Wolfgang,

The manual for the ADL2 is available from here:

http://www.motec.com/downloads/downloadmanuals/

Where are you located? Perhaps we could use TeamViewer (available from TeamViewer.com) to help you configure your ADL2.
