i2 Slowdown - No Distance in Distance channel.

Postby JayDee on Fri Nov 28, 2008 12:40 am

Hi,
Has anyone else experianced a big pause when you have a project or template open and it is based in distance mode (F9 toggle).
Load a log file which has no distance actually travelled.
( For us this could be a workshop fireup or bench test, so it happens quite often)
On all of the laptops I could test here, we get a big pause whilst i2 works out that there is no distance travelled, despite there being a distance channel logged. :?
After the puase you can F9 change the screen to a time based layout.

Has anyone else seen this problem and if so, is there any way to work around this 'zero distance' issue.
(other than toggling to a time based layout before opening the log file)
Cheers, J.

Hi, me again...
Seriously has no one else experianced this?
Is this an undocumented 'feature' or something wrong with our systems.
If its our laptops, windows XP, virus etc.. then I'll go kick the IT dept.

Hi JayDee,

What version of i2 are you using, I have just tried opening a log file from an engine warmup and one from a practice stint and both took the same amount of time to open.

I've seen this before with long dyno logs but not for some time.
I'm sure there's been at least one software update since I saw it.
