CDL3 not connecting to M800

Postby DJDINO on Mon Apr 25, 2016 5:58 pm

I have a M800 pnp connected to a CDL3 via a CAN cable the CAN cable is configured as per the CDL3 drawing with a resistor at each end and has a XLR connector branching off it to communicate with the ECU, when connected to this via my UTC I can connect to the M800 no problem, I connect to the dash via the ethernet cable, this works fine. I have engine temp and air temp reading fine via the M800 but cannot see these channels on the CDL3, I have followed the CDL3 instructions (installing the CDL3 to CAN ECU loom) and changed ECU CAN settings but still nothing ???

Which PnP unit do you have? Depending on which board you have it is likely that the CAN bus will be at 500k baud rate. What baud rate is you CDL3 set to?

If you go to monitor channels in CDL3 Dash Manager, check the CAN diagnostic channel ("Comms CAN 1 Diag" by default) what value do you get?

A value of 512 means there is no data being received. There are a number of things that could be causing the issue such as mismatching addresses or baud rates, wiring issues etc.

Are you able to send me you ECU and Dash config files for me to check? You can send them to support@motec.com.au

Hey Adrian, Mila sent a response today after looking at the config files, the settings in the CDL3 CAN settings under async were set to M800, when set to M8 everything works as it should. Thanks again for your help
