M84 user 1 and user 2 don't show up in CDL

Postby TunedByShaneT on Wed Feb 22, 2012 1:37 pm

user 1 and 2 offset is mismatched with template for CDL (maybe others SDL?)

Work around is subtract 4 from offset number in CAN template in CDL and they should show up correctly then.

Thanks to Dave Ferguson for this.

Yeah that was my fault, slight finger slip when I originally did the CAN....5mins to 5pm on a Friday, you all understand?

The template has been fixed but not released yet. If anyone is having a issue with this and is not too familiar with the CAN setup in the CDL3, SDL, SDL3, ADL, ADL2 or ADL3 send me an email at mark.mccoy@motec.com.au and i will send them a fix directly.

Do I still need to do this fix to get them to show up on the dash? I have the latest software/firmware.
I still do not get user1/2 data sent to the dash, but can see the sensors working fine on the ecu.

Good day Damian,

Unfortunately I am not able to replicate your query in a reasonable time frame, however, it might be worth your while to send Mark and email as noted in his post. You should get a reasonable turn around with respect to a response from him.

Please be mindful of the time difference between yourself and Australia where I believe Mark is located.

If you can, please share your findings with the forum community as others can benefit.

Cheers!

Hi Damian,

I just quickly tested that template on the bench and it seems to work fine. Do any of the other channels come across to the dash?

I think I found out what it is, if I make a new file with the m84 template it will show up, but it does not when I reload my 'running' dash file.

Is there any way to update my current dash setup file so I do not have to re-doe all the dash settings?

With you current dash configuration open, go to Connections|Communications. Highlight the M84 template and click remove. Now click select and find the M84 template and hit OK. Now you can send the config to the dash and all of your other settings will be unchanged.
