Not saying you have to, but you could experiment. If for some reason the engine was getting overfuelled during the overrun, and you could not rectify this on the main table, then maybe it would be worth trying.

It's very unlikely that is the problem....or you'd assume it is unlikely as it's easily avoidable.

Low pressure/throttle areas of the fuel map at mid to high RPM are pretty difficult to tune correctly, most often its either a theoretical calc or you're actually there so briefly sensor and gas travel lag time messes with your brain. When the injector batt comp is off its even worse to get proper low load transition fueling. Add in many modern MAP sensors internally flatline their outputs at min and max pressures (Infineon Bosch TMAP comes to mind) and you get serious issues. I'd guess its a fueling issue off by more than 40% or better within the transition from very low load to moderately low load.

As far as decel fuel cut goes do it any way you wish BUT, if the low load areas aren't close to being correct, turning on decel fuel cut before they are close will waste your time.

WOT fuel tuning takes 2% of your time, its the tricky parts that take the time to get close to correct.
