M1 GPR / Logging CAN-Data

Postby Jakob on Fri Aug 15, 2014 8:50 am

Hello,

I've strain gauge amplifier which send its measured values via CAN. I can freely assign IDs, Offset and sample rates. Is it possible to log this informations in the M1/GPR?

I know for the M1/GPR there is an receive-block with 16 IDs. But one can only link this messages to speciale "sensor" slots.
I think, it would be nice to log this channels directly, e.g. Message 2 Offset 0 is than strain gauge #1 and so on. I could then us I2 Math Channels to give it a useful name, scale and offset.

I think you'll get along better logging that in a dash/logger.

I think what you're asking for is some available User or General Purpose channels for the GPR package.

OK, but the M1 got 120/250 MB Logging Memory. Why buy an additional logger?

If I could log the CAN receive block, I would already be happy.

Another alternative is to make a custom package. You start with the GPR package (source is included with M1 Build), but add your own additional CAN logging. We could do that.
