Motec PPL Sugestion on GPS

Postby Motec_Master on Thu Nov 13, 2008 8:18 pm

Please guys find a way for us to use the GPS sensor directly with the ECU .... We have to use it with the loggers  ...

If it can be logged and viewed in the ECU it can be useful atleast ... U know like in auxillary tables etc... etc....

GPS is much easier than having to do a speed sensor setup... I know you guys can do it

Cheers

The Motec 10HZ Gps has a digital speed output which can be used in any ECU

Be aware, only the MoTeC USA 10hz GPS has a dig output for an ECU, the plastic case models sold elsewhere dont have that available.

Is there a manual or datasheet for the US professional / motorsport GPS?

There is manual for the GPS BL-1 which is on the MoTeC USA website in the downloads section. GPS lat and long and other GPS data can now be logged in the M84 and 'hundred series' ECUs.

Thanks for your reply. Not sure if you saw the dates but in the 3 years, 8 months since I asked the question I have found the datasheet, bought the GPS, set it up, modded it to display UK summer time and winter time, modded the comms to add extra channels for precision, number of sats etc etc, done numerous events and have now retired from competition!! But hopefully the reply will help someone else.
