Understanding Tuning fuel map and ignition map

Postby mgy on Thu May 29, 2014 12:37 pm

Hello Everyone,
I am using a 2009 Yamaha R6 engine and I can't find the starter map for the engine so I have to resort to manaul input. playing guessing game I was able to get the engine to idle at around ~1000 - ~2250 RPM knowing what fuel I am using (100 Octane) and still yet the engine won't idle for long and sometimes act strange like going up to 5000 RPM and come back down to 2000 RPM and dies. I have little understanding with fuel map timing and want to know how you done it ?

I have attached my Motec file for correction and inputs.

Thank you for your time,
Matthew Yee

I suggest for further help you should post a log file of the engine starting and running as that will give us a lot more clues to how everything is working.
Also a ref/sync capture will be useful to confirm your ref sync settings are correct. I assume you have set crip with a timing light so that the commanded ecu advance matches what the engine is receiving.
What type of coils and ignitors does this engine have?
