about to buy a hall type ref kit need help on install

fd3s running motec m2r

i am going to buy a hall 36-2 t kit

im just wondering how a single sensor replaces both original mag sensors
i have looked at the sync ref setup but cant find an option to disable one sensor
any 1 done this ?

That kit replaces crank reference trigger only. Nothing else.

When you refer to "both original mag sensors" are you saying there was 2 sensors on the crankshaft originally ?

yes sorry

i thort m2r requires 2 sensors input or it will show an error
that was my only concern

so in theory by just putting single hall sensor on the ref ch it should be ok
also putting in correct teeth etc

Some of the ref/sync modes donot require the sync signal. You donot need to disable the sync input - it will just work without it. For 36-2 with a hall sensor basic settings would be:
No of cyl = -2
Ref/sync mode = 81(rising edge) or 83 (falling edge) (falling will be the best if the supplied sensor is a 1GT101DC)
Ref sensor type = 1
Crank ref teeth = 36
Totth ratio =50%
