i2 telemetry

Postby strakkaracing on Tue Sep 10, 2013 1:19 am

Good Afternoon,

We have recently fitted a Motec ADL3 to one of our WSBR single seater testing cars and have a few questions.

Is there a signal strength channel calculated pit side that can be displayed in telemetry monitor?

When comparing downloaded data in I2 with the telemetry data fed in from telemetry monitor in distance mode we have a consistent drop out of data. Please see https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/101 ... stance.png .
Is this due to poor reception or an incorrect setting?

Can the distance be displayed on the grid in Telemetry monitor scrolling along to enable driver performance training?
Is this a feature in the Telemetry monitor 2?

Kind Regards

Hello Stephan,
Given the very regular nature of the drop outs, it certainly does not look like a normal range/reception issue.
Are you having the same problem when the car is in the garage or only when the car is at a distance?
Which telem system are you running? Radio modem, like a Satel or mobile phone GSM/GPRS.
We play with telemetry quite a bit and have tweaked the settings to get the most but it can still remain bit of a hit and miss affair. A received signal strength indicator is a feature of the receiving modem and there is no provision for feeding this into the receiving telemetry PC.
