M880 high current wiring

Postby TimoK on Sat Oct 25, 2008 9:41 pm

We are buildung up a wiring harness for M880 and are a bit confused with the wiring. How can we use the high current aux outputs as the max wire that fits in the connector is 0.35mm2? Using that thin of a wire with almost 5A load seems quite a bad idea.

Hi Timo,

The contacts in the M880 Autosport connector are rated to 5A (although this rating is quite conservative) and accept a maximum wire size of 22 gauge. Depending on exact wire specifications used (we recommend Tefzel or Raychem) and the likely ambient temperature under operation, this size of wire is rated to around 5 or 6A.
