Postby jery on Sun May 12, 2013 9:31 pm

Hi,

I have an audi/vw with the motec m400 and I'm trying to started and nothing. The engine is a 60-2 and I have the ref on hall and fall and the sync hall and fall with a crip of 85, I tried the mode 17 and 59, with the 59 the rpm's is up to 8000 on cranking.

Help please!

Unless you've changed sensors the ref is magnetic, the sync is hall, mode 17, see this for more-

Ref rising or falling depends on how the sensor was wired, either will work, look at the edge as its going thru the missing teeth, rising or falling.
Do a ref/sync capture (no ign or inj connected)then determine the proper edges.
You want to use the sync edge that is closest to the center of the two missing tooth events on the ref.

Oh and make sure the sensor matches the type of trigger wheel used, the round tooth stamped wheel needs the rectangular pole sensor, the square tooth wheel can use the round pole sensor. Learned this lesson the hard way, there are lots of options for sensors in this engine family.

This one ended up ref fall, sync rise, 438 crip.
