Boost switching on M800

Postby 13B323 on Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:03 pm

Hi Guys,
i want to have a higer boost setting in 5th gear in my car, im running an air shifted lenco, i want to put an air switch in the line that controls 5th gear,
I want the switch to Ground or feed 12v to the m800 so it knows im in 5th, this will than change the boost map to get higher boost,

doing the wiring and installation is easy and straight forward,
Question is, When online with the motec how and where do i go to configure the input?
what will i be telling the motec to do and how do i do that.

I know these are lay mans terms but you get what i mean

Is the boost being controlled by the M800? If so, set up gear detection, use Gear on one of your Boost Aim or Boost Comp axes. If it isn't, and you are using an aftermarket controller, use gear detection and an output, when Gear state goes from 4th to 5th switch the output on to trigger your external boost controller to change boost levels.

If you don't have wheel speed or driveshaft/trans speed sensors sounds like an ideal setup to use the RPM Drop Gear Detection method.
