MDC Fault Codes

Postby Mazi on Tue Oct 14, 2008 10:52 pm

MDC Fault codes described in MDC User Manual Appendix A are missing or I can't read them.

Is MDC able to recognize faulty wheel sensor? I have lost both front sensors during last race without any dash alarm or fault code in datalog.

You should be able to read the fault codes when you monitor channels online. They are also included in the RS232 or CAN communications so you can log them in your ECU or ADL (if fitted). A disconnected wheel speed sensor will not flag an error, If you are using an ADL you could set up some conditions to warn the driver of missing wheel speed input.

Thank you Ross

But I can't find all error code description in the manual. I don't believe that my Acrobat reader is broken.

That is the full list of fault flags and diagnostic flags. If there is more than 1 fault the fault numbers will be combined. For example Short circuit pump output code is 2 and Hydraulic pressure pump is 4, so if both faults are present the fault code will be 6.

There is only one diagnostic flag for the steering position sensor so you should only see 0 or 1.
