M800 with Racepak IQ3

I have a M800 pnp and will be using a Racepak IQ3, I have a cable that connects from the IQ3 to the CAN high and low (pin 85 & 100) on the M800, with this connected and the dash powered up will I be able to communicate with the ECU or will I need to cut power to the dash ?

Wired this up today, with the Racepak connected to the CAN L & H (Pin 85 & 100) you can still communicate with the M800, with the previous ECU (Vipec) you had to disconnect the dash to connect to the ECU.
