ECU not detected

Postby Ankur on Wed Jun 08, 2022 5:34 pm

Hello Sir,
Our ECU M142 GPR diesel is not detecting in M1 tune software. This issue occurred on running engine equipped with this ECU. We are not able to identify the reason behind this abrupt failure. We have checked the battery voltage and terminals and, ends of the wiring harness. All open ends of wiring harness are well insulted, and also the battery voltage is optimum. Please suggest what could be the possible reasons for the ECU failure.

Thanks

Ankur

Hi Ankur,

Aside from being unable to communicate with the M142 is it still functioning as expected?

Hello there
thanks for the fast response. No the ECU is not working.

To clarify, actually the engine stopped abruptly during operation, and the ECU got disconnected. Which implies that, the ECU is not driving the actuators (checked with current clamp across injectors). We have also checked the connectivity between the positive and negative of ECU and its open.

Hi Ankur,

That sounds like a fault has occured with the M142. You will need to organise with your local Approved MoTeC Dealer to have the M1 returned to MoTeC for checking.
