Add value to channel.

Hi,
I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I want to set a value in the numeric editor, and have that increase another channel.
I'v tried with counters in DM and DC, but the counter does not follow the edited channel every time.
And then i have a difference between the selected value, and the actual value added to the counter.

The case is, that i want to add ex 20L fuel to a channel and have that channel compared with "Fuel Used" to generate "Fuel Remaining".

And.. what is the output channel in the numeric editor used for ?
I seems that no value is set ?
