I think you need to describe your problem more fully. What are your constraints? (ie, what do you have connected to the Display Creator and what are it's capabilities?)
If you were using a MoTeC logger, I would just display the channel "Odometer" which is setup in the Dash Manager under Calculations->Speed and Distance...->Odometer.
You're going to need a device with preserved memory and the ability to do at least an distance addition computation, and transmit the odometer value over the CAN bus.
