GPS problem

I have bought a car with a C125 and M150. It has GPS but I can't get the GPS to work. The light on the L10 blinks (once a second roughly) but the Valid is 0 and all GPS values are zero when I log in to check channel values. My RS232-2 RX communications setup seems right - the only thing I have noticed which seems different to settings I have found doing searches on the net is that mine shows "GPS - Standard RMC GGA GSA" whereas many seem to say it should show "GPS - Standard RMC GGA".
Rate is 38400 (Actual 38422), Data Bits 8, Stop Bits 1, Parity None, Flow Control None.
Is there something else I need to check or set?

Hi,
Do you have the GPS plugged into the correct connector on the C125 loom?
The RMC GGA GSA template is the correct template to use, it has the updated messaging from the GPS mouse that the GGA doesn't have.
If you connect to the dash and go to Online | Monitor Channels... what does the Comms RS232 x Diag report? It should be 0 (no faults) but I think that it will be reporting 512 (No Data) which signifies that the Dash is not receiving any data from the GPS.

Hi Stephen,
In "Monitor Channels", "Comms RS232-2 Diag" reports 512. Data type is unitless.
The GPS seems to be plugged in properly. It is plugged into the GPS plug in the car wiring loom and the fact the light is flashing seems to indicate it has power. The car has its own harness so I don't know whether the GPS goes direct to the dash or through the M150 (I'm new to all of this and have read the GPS sometimes goes to the ECU but I am learning as I go). The car is a Ginetta G55 and the harness etc all seems to be in good original condition. Do I need to start checking pin25 of the dash harness plug to see if it has continunity to one of the pins of the GPS harness plug? Or is there something I should check in the M150?
Thanks for your help.
Brendan

Hi Brendan,
My understanding is that Ginetta runs the GPS into the Dash, and then CAN it from there into the M1. As for the wiring, Pin 2 on the DTM connector will run to either Pin 25 (RS-232-2RX) or Pin 28 (RS-232-1RX).
