Can Fault

I swapped a C185 for an ADL 2. Since the pins for the CAN bus are identical, I did not swap them in the connector.
As it turns out, I have no CAN connection between the M170 and the C185. And in the M170 diagnostic a Can Bus error message.
Maybe someone can help me and take a look at my file.

Can you post your ADL2 Configuration as well. You probably didn't transfer a CAN template correctly, or you are using the wrong CAN bus on the C185.

Here is an updated configuration. You didn't have any of the CAN Comms Templates loaded that you had on the ADL2, so I exported them from the ADL2, and imported them into the C185. Now I noticed that you had re-named many GP channels, but I did not go through the exercise to do that. It may be that with the channels file on your computer this will all just come up fine. If not, then you need to get that sorted.

Since the channels didn't have the right names, I did not fix the display config either.

Lastly, be sure your M1 is actually connected to the CAN 1 connection. The ADL2 had two CAN connections where were internally connected to the same CAN bus. On the C185 this is CAN1 and CAN2, so you might need to save those templates, and re-select them with CAN2 instead.

Hello David,
many thanks for your help.
I would like to logging Fuel and Oil Pressure via the C185. Can you please briefly explain how I can switch from kpa to bar in the configuration?
I need the Fuel Pressure for Fuel Pressure Linearsation in my M1 Package.
Best Regards
Ralf

Hi Ralf,

If you are transmitting Fuel Pressure from the C185 to the M1, it is best to leave the base value in kPa as this is what the M1 is expecting to see, you can then change the display units in the Dash, i2 and M1 to the required units.
