PC Cannot connect to dash

hi silly and basic issue but when connecting the laptop to motec c127 dash via usb to to utc adapter no device is shown in device manager or i2 software. The
pc used windows 10 home
any advice appreciated

You use ethernet to connect to a C127, not CAN.

I had this problem in October w/ my C127. Downloading and reinstalling with the latest version of Dash Manager allowed me to connect again immediately.
