Civic EP3 OBD11 to C125 dash template.

Hi
I'm currently wanting to put my C125 into my Honda Civic Type-R for the Civic up.
We have to run the stock Honda ECU for the championship so could really do with running it off the OBDII connector and then to RS323 connector (which I have) and and plan to wire the dash in this way as the older EP3 modal doesn't have CAN

Has anyone ever done this, if so can somebody point me in the right direction for a template that will work?

Many thanks
Ady Smith

Hi Ady,

Our dash software only supports the CAN based OBD2 messaging protocols. If you have a Hondata chip in your ECU, we have templates for the Hondata serial messaging.

Thanks for the reply Nathan, We do have to run a stock ECU as I said but it is flashed with the older Hondata software i believe, i will find out what it is exactly and come back to you? ;)

I know the K4 Pro units have CAN output from the research I done before making this post, if we can use that ECU that then great and save a lot of head ache but I'm not sure if we are allowed to use them in the series rules!!!

Thanks again
Ady

Hey Ady,

It's entirely possible depending on the particular K series ECU you have.

The guide for enabling serial output on the ECU is here on the Hondata website:

https://www.hondata.com/help/kmanager/i ... output.htm

When this is done, we have an RS232 template in the dash manager software you can use.

Thanks for the reply Nathan, this gives me some hope of getting this working :)

I will report back on how I get on, just need to see if this will work on a standard ECU flashed with Hondata.
