CAN2 RS232 RX mode

Postby quadcam on Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:00 pm

If CAN2 of a C1xx dash is to be used to receive an RS232 data stream is there a requirement to translate the signals from RS232 voltage levels to TTL, or does the dash handle that?

I have checked the dash manual and can't see any reference to acceptable signal levels on those pins.
Thanks again.

Hi,

If you are sending an RS232 Serial stream into the Dash, for example from a GPS antenna or ECU, then as long as it is RS232 Serial compliant, then you just need to have the correct baud rate and receive template configured.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, it is RS232 Serial compliant from an ECU.
