C187 "send configuration" problem

Postby br21 on Sun Nov 11, 2018 8:13 pm

Hi!
I have C187 and Dash Manager 6.10.35.0. I can download the calibration from the Dash without problems, but when then I try to send config to the dash I have such pop-up window coming:
But no other details, like when you have missing generated channels you like to use then you have info when you do "Check channels" what you miss. In this my case no any further info, just that pop-up window. And I can't send anything. It happens when I try to send exactly the same config I downloaded from the Dash or if I modify it, always same problem.

Hi

It is hard to tell exactly what is going on just from that message. Can you send me the config file so I can test it out?

Please send it to support@motec.com.au

I had something similar after I installed this version of C187 Dash Manager.
It appeared to corrupt the channels file, which effected many different versions of Dash Manager.
I installed the version of C125 Dash Manager and this fixed the issue for me

Thanx for info.
How do you managed to open C187 config with C125 software?

His point is that the C125 dash manger installer installed a new master channels file which fixed the problems with his C127 configuration.

So, look through your configuration, and find the "channel not found" messages. Replace those channels with channels that do exist. Sometimes what happens is you are using a channel ID, that some other piece of Motec software knows about, but the C127 firmware doesn't.

A good place to start would be the File->View Configuration Summary, since that shows every channel on a list, and where it is being referenced.

From the filename it looks like you have downloaded a config from a Marc cars dash.

The dash that was most likely setup on a different laptop that has channel names changed in the channel list.

You don't have this list on your laptop. I think the simplest way to resolve this issue is to get the lists from Marc cars and install them on your laptop.

With the help of Adrian it's solved now.
It was issue with master channels list, I had old version on my laptop, which was not updated while installing/uninstalling C187 software (and others, like C125, C127, etc).
Thanx everyone for help, especially Adrian of course!
