C125 dash not working

Hello forum I have a problem with my new color dash and need some help. I have a c125 wired into a single can adapter with a m400 ecu. I followed the instructions for setting it up & sending the configuration to the dash from the dash manager software. The dash doesn’t show any of the channels, respond to rpm, show oil pressure, fuel pressure etc just look pretty. The dash is wired into the can1 low & high according to the pinout sheet. So I plugged in my utc adapter to check my ecu setting before I could get my usb cord connected or anything the dash immediately started working. It showed rpm, oil & fuel pressure etc. I unplugged the empty utc adapter & immediately everything dropped back to zero & the dash went back unresponsive. I’m new at this & trying to figure it out. The dash works with the empty utc adapter plugged into the can adapter without the usb cord connected to anything & everything goes back to zero soon as I unplug the utc adapter from the can. Thanks in advance for reading my post.

sounds like CAN wiring termination, loom needs resistor?

To be clear -- the UTC adds a terminating resistor. You need to make sure there is one 100-120 ohm resistor between CAN Hi & CAN Lo at one end of the bus (ideally, there would be one at each end of the bus).

Thank You David & Br21 for the response. I will install a terminating resistor & post the results after I’m finished. I hope that’s all it is. Thanks again.

Can i solder the resister directly to the back of the can adapter?

Yes-- that is sometimes a convenient place.

Well I put a 100 ohm resistor directly behind the can bus adapter between can low & can high. Dash appears to be working now all of the channels went from showing all zeros to actual data numbers. Thanks Again.
